Bill and Margie Imus are now both attending NC Environmental Educator workshops throughout the state. This gives the preserve the opportunity to bring full circle studies in the natural world in direct tie to curriculum for the North Carolina schools K-12 classes! Call or email to see how we can help get your students outside to learn!

Farm & Nature Preserve
Nature Center and Outdoor Learning
Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve is an outdoor learning center located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The preserve is 65 acres of beautiful meadows, mature native hardwoods, farmland, creeks and springs. This land was originally tobacco farmland that had been depleted of it's fertility. After practicing sustainable farming methods for many years we were able to bring this farmland back to a productive fertile state that we are to able to sustain. Today we can grow a wide variety of crops throughout the year providing seasonal produce, herbs and flowers. We offer farm tours to see what is taking place and growing on the farm throughout the various seasons. We also offer nature walks to experience the sights, sounds, smells and textures of the native hardwood forest. Come and learn about seasonal organic farming, native flora and fauna, creek life, artist opportunities and so much more! Just let us know what you would like to focus on with your group of visitors, from the intensive farming methods of growing seasonly or the wonderful biodiversity of our region throughout the property. Visit, experience and learn with us at Minglewood!
